The world’s leaders assemble a team of three international experts to uncover what the latest shadow painting is foretelling, and the trio soon uncovers the case of three American girls who can cure or kill with the scribble of a crayon. In an odyssey that challenges their faith, their detective skills and their courage, the three investigators – an FBI agent, a Scottish psychic and a Maronite priest – travel to the United States, to a convent hidden away in the countryside. No one in their right mind ever thought of dominating Deputy Sheriff Elizabeth Reid. Charming and laid back, most people knew her appearance could be deceiving. She had been careful to maintain the reputation too, never letting anyone know she had a weakness... an old friend who of course showed up at her door at the heel of a case involving heroin possession. _____ "I told you I wasn't doing my father's bidding. You made me look like a fool, Lisette." I put my hands on his solid chest, struggling for air. "It's not my fault..." "You caused it and I'm gonna make you pay for it," he hissed before capturing my lips again, slipping the tip of his tongue between my slightly opened mouth. I tried keeping it shut, twisting in his arms, panicking slightly because I couldn't breathe... moaning when he slowed down, his hand slid up the back of my head as he started a lingering, softer kiss. I let out a shuddering breath and cursed my body for melting slowly as he pulled me higher, his . . .

To chart the course of our ship of state, could not find their butts with both hands. The active writing has occurred whenever I could find the time after work or on weekends, and could shake the guilt trip of not acquiescing to my wife's suggestions of outings to the mountains, ocean, rivers, and other destinations of natural beauty in the Pacific Northwest. It is my conviction, that unless I, and a large number of my fellow travelers begin to spend less time enjoying the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of our respective areas, and more time supervising and reassessing the role of our representatives to government, that very soon we will no longer be free to go where we want, and do what we please. The atrocities in Waco, Texas, Ruby Ridge Idaho, and the recently passed "homeland security" legislation, has prompted me to spend more time, with less guilt, staring at this computer screen. It is not my intent to be vindictive, however, each pointed finger will require . . .

Kindergarten teacher Molly thought she had things under control. Her nice little house, her good job at the local school, her steady nice boyfriend... and her bad boy lover all lined up in a neat row. But then a question was asked and she had to watch her own neat little world spiral out of control, pushing her to make a once in a lifetime choice of the dangerous... _____ "Rafe, it was yesterday. I meant to tell you soon — " I got off the bed and walked up to him, not really knowing what to do but thinking I should try and be close. "Well, obviously not soon enough," he swatted my arms away and I felt an ache twisting inside me. "Half the town knows already and I was the fool who was kept in the dark." "Rafe, I haven't even told the people at the kindergarten," I tried again. "How did you find out by the way?" He stared at me but then shook his head. Felicia (and most of her coworkers) did not understand why the quiet, scowling Devin was always there at the diner for his breakfast. She only knew that she loved teasing the man others told her was dangerous, to the point where he would finally spoke. The harsher the better for her. She was warned and told to keep from poking the dragon but ignored it, only to find out she was not prepared for the fire... _____ "Anything else you want?" I asked as I placed the mug in front of him. As usual, he grunted and shook his head. I looked up when someone walked in and joined him. It was really unusual since our patrons were not exactly Devin's kind of people and I realized the newcomer was not our regular as soon as I saw his leather jacket. He was young though, very early 20s, with a fresh look in his face that made him blend rather well in our place. "Hi there, anything I can get you?" I asked. "What's he having? Black coffee?" he gestured at Devin's mug. "I'll have the same then." It . . .
